Why Having a Fitness “Coach” Works for Me [Productivity @ Home]

For about eight weeks, I have been at work transforming a part of my life with the help of my new fitness coach, Greg from Faith First Fitness.  I became acquainted with Greg and his services through my podcast and took the plunge to sign up for fitness and nutritional coaching with his program.  I have not been disappointed.

Having been through Weight Watchers in the past and successfully completed a marathon this year, you would think I’d have my act together enough not to need to pay someone to help me with this.  But you’d be wrong.  I’ve learned that I work well with the structure of an overarching program, but that I don’t want to be on a “diet”.  What I do want is to have a sense of control over this aspect of my life.  I want to eat healthfully and focus on helping my family do the same.  I want to make a regular commitment to working out.  But, most of all, I want the sense of spiritual and emotional well being that comes along with purposeful nutrition and exercise.  I don’t want guilt feelings over an unhealthy lifestyle to spill over into the rest of my life, wreaking havoc on my sense of self and my ability to function productively.

That’s why working with Greg works for me - Greg is a constant, benevolent presence.  Even though I’ve never met him or spoken with him in person, I know that he has a plan for my long term success and that he’s committed to helping me succeed.  The amount of financial investment I’ve made in this process keeps me accountable.  If I’m going to pay for this, then I’m going to stick to the program!  I wish I didn’t need that discipline, but for now I do and the price is worth the results.

I haven’t lost a ton of weight yet, but I’m noticing a change in my clothing and am feeling much more fit and less stressed out.  More importantly, I feel great about myself and my commitment to my health.  With Coach Greg in my corner, I’m confident that long term change and growth can be accomplished.  Have you considered making an investment in your health and wellness?  If you’re concerned with overall personal productivity, coaching just may be one investment that will pay long term dividends.
