Tweet Me Productively [Black Belt Productivity]
Jason and I have been tweeting for a little over a year now. We have both established a long list of friends that we have met through twitter. Last night, we decided that we wanted Black Belt Productivity to have an official presence on twitter. So we created the @blackbeltprod twitter id (bbp was taken by someone else, to our chagrin).
Not sure what twitter is, watch this video located at CommonCraft. It explains it really well. (I tried to embed the video here, but could never get it to NOT screw up the formatting of the rest of the post.)
How will Black Belt Productivity use twitter, you ask? That is a very good question. There are 2 main uses that Jason and I see for our presence on twitter:
- Quick productive tips that Jason and I think of during the day. These are things that can be triggers for you to do something or even a blog post from other bloggers that we find would appeal to BBP readers.
- I (Michael) will be monitoring the @blackbeltprod twitter account through IM. The greatest benefit of this is that he will be able to take advantage of the tracking keywords feature. Right now, I am tracking ‘gtd’. I will see every tweet that has the letters ‘gtd’ in it. A good many are not in English, which shows that international popularity of GTD. I will try to respond to all of the ones that come through in English.
I see this endeavor as a really great opportunity to expand the readership of BBP. We know that will involve more work from Jason and I, but we are both recommitting ourselves to BBP and to making it a great stop for all things GTD. We do not want more readers because we are getting anything ourselves. We made a decision long ago that we would NEVER sell ads on BBP. We want more readers so that we can spread the GTD message to the masses.
So, if you are on twitter, we would appreciate you following us. We are up to 9 followers and it only been around for 12 hours. Please feel free to use this to ask questions of us, or to send us a comment. Just start the tweet with ‘@blackbeltprod’ and we will get it.
Have a productive day!
Michael
