They say that the most creative people also have the most diverse books in their personal library.

I won’t go as far as to say I’m creative, but I will say I have an eclectic taste, both in books and in my RSS subscriptions. I have a total of 108 feeds (!) and I come across so many great articles daily.

There’s no way I can list all the cool articles that I think you should read, but I do list some of them here.

The happiness secrets of the young and the old: This article by Carmine Coyote recommends having happiness like those in childhood and in retirement. “Only those in between - the people trying to earn a living and get ahead — find themselves locked in competition and struggle. … They’re the ones who often view the future with fear, not anticipation.

What is hard work really worth?: Another article by Carmine Coyote echoes the same message I gave in an earlier post: do not get caught up in working hard just because you think you’re supposed to.

The Hidden Secret To Perseverance: Ellesse shows us not only the hidden secret to perseverance, but also the hidden secret of Napoleon Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich. Ellesse writes, “The hidden secret is all about executing the 4 steps advocated by Napoleon Hill in a correct sequence on a consistent basis.” Oops, the secret is out!

Sunset serenity.

Today Matters: Sometimes the simplest messages are the most powerful. Chris gives us straightforward reasons why today can be a valuable day. This line sums it up well: “Tomorrow will be the result of what you do today. Therefore, today will always be more important than tomorrow because tomorrow owes it’s existence to today.

The Organize IT Habits: Always Ask Why And How: Spike has put into practice his advice: “I would fall off the GTD wagon, and by asking ‘why’ and ‘how’ whenever it happened, I’ve slowly evolved my system to the point where having it fall apart is a rarity rather than the norm.

10 Tips For Pruning Your Next Action List: A common problem with action lists is that they are poorly defined and unwieldy. This article by gtdfrk gives us some good tips on more effective action list. I found that each of the 10 tips were pretty solid ones!

Thoughts on Yahoo, Microsoft, and the Challenges of Change: From time to time I would write on a topic from current news (such as the writer’s strike) because they offer great lessons for personal development. Does this article do that? No, but Bill Taylor gives a new spin on a much-written news story by comparing the two to IBM.

No Girl? How to Express Your Man Crush on Valentine’s Day Instead: Tim Ferris helps the guys show their emotions (in a proper masculine way, of course) for their fellow man.

Stumble, Stumble, Joy, Joy
These are only some of the links that I enjoyed recently. I’ve recently been active with StumbleUpon and you can check out my profile page (my user name is sevenp) to see other links that I also like. If you’re a StumbleUpon user and like some of my stumbles, why not be a buddy?
