January Review [HD BizBlog- The Blog: Productivity in Context]
Welcome to February!
It is time to review the achievements for the first month of the new year. I have to say that I was planning on a sprint to the finish, but I caught a nasty bug that laid me out flat for three days this week. Blegh. I did not get a lot done.
- First, I have maintained 100% in keeping my GTD journal scoring. This Sparkline shows the monthly results -
- Average score: 4.03
- I was able to clear my in-box to empty every single day this past week, for three weeks running. Of course, on two days nothing even went in, so I’m not sure it counts…
- The Project Planning e-course was published last Friday. The Goalpost was 23 Jan. , so I was one day late with the sneak preview. The e-book and training program are all available here. More marketing and a preview of the next e-book coming soon!
- I wrote 1 Content post this week, and was very glad to have guest posts from Mike and Joshua.
- Average subscriber count this past week was 627 (+8 over last week), with a high of 648 on Wednesday. The goal of 650 was not quite met. I will have to work harder next month to make up the shortfall.
- I did not finish creating the Squidoo lenses that I had planned for this month. Again, I will have to make it up in February by writing 4 instead of the three I scheduled. Click the following link to see the Squidoo page under development [link].
- I had also planned to do some design work on two new productivity tools for the HD BizBlog Shop to be ready for the end of January, but the flu cut my plans off at the knees. These new products will have to wait a week. If you are curious, they have to do with the 7 Habits and weekly planning.
- As for my personal financial goals, well, I did not make them either. I think that I know why, and how to fix it.
January Summary
The first month of 2008 marks the first anniversary of my GTD practice. It has seen quite a few changes and modifications as I have tried some different techniques and methods. I am very happy with the layout as it stands today [link to description]. I am very grateful to the readers and contributors who have made this website as successful as it is. I have big plans for it, and for all of you reading, as we move into 2008.
I definitely feel as though I am making some real progress, even more-so because I am sharing the progress with (and getting inspiration and encouragement from) all of you. Next month is going to be great!
