4 Steps For Better Bookmark Management [Tech Rest]

How many bookmarks do you have? Ever have trouble finding one?
Here is a better way.
Put your top 20 sites in one folder. If you take a look at your browsing, I’ll bet that over 80% of the time, you visit your top 20 sites. Rather than put these in multiple folders, why not put them all in one folder so you don’t have to hunt for them. Also, I like to shorten the title so that it takes up less screen space when it’s opened.
Put ALL your other sites in one big folder. I can’t count the number of times I’ve look in folder after folder trying to find a site. It’s much easier to search one big list instead of several smaller ones.
Label the site with something you will remember. If I hear about a great substitute for Norton’s Ghost from Joe, I put something like “Ghost substitute that Joe Recommended” in the Title. That way when I forget the name of the site, I can find it based on my description of it.
Use Bookmark search to find what you are looking for. For Firefox users, click Bookmarks and choose Organize Bookmarks. Then just type what you are looking for in Search.
This is working well for me but I am always open to suggestions. What works for you?
