A Journey of a Thousand Miles, Part II [HD BizBlog 1.2]
Well, my wife and I have moved, that is. (This blog is nowhere and everywhere at the same time!) In any case, by the time that you read this I should have completed my arduous cross-country trek to the great state of Maine.

IÂ have lived in Illinois, Florida, Louisiana, Connecticut, and North Carolina. I also spent one summer working in London, England. You may have guessed that I enjoy moving, yet nothing could be further from the truth. I hate moving! It’s the living in different places that I enjoy, meeting new people, learning interesting things about different regions of the country. It’s almost like being on tour, just a much slower pace.
My wife has a new job as a Catering Sales Manager at a hotel just south of Brunswick, where we will be spending the next few days looking for a place to live. And I need a job! If any of you readers know anyone in southern Maine that can recommend places to work, I would greatly appreciate it.
“What kind of work do you do?”
I have done all sorts of things:
- Bank Courier Department Supervisor
- Printing Press Operator
- Construction Worker
- Waiter, Bartender, etc.
- Restaurant Manager
- Banquet Manager
- Catering Sales Manager
- Bookstore Manager
- Automobile Sales Consultant
- Internet Sales Admin
If that is not an eclectic mix, I don’t know how else to describe it. Basically, I am willing to take on any of these kinds of positions, however, I am most interested in growing my career in the direction of “web worker”. I would love to find a paying blogger position, or something along those lines. You can see more information at my LinkedIn profile.
There may also be an opportunity for one (or more!) of you to get involved with an Internet Marketing scheme that I am considering. While I was doing research on this area of the country, I discovered that many of the businesses and services that I needed information about were not as “online” as they could be. I believe that there is some potential there for an enterprising web designer and SEO operative to get some business.
If you are interested in discussing this idea some more, please send an email to stephen[at]hdbizblog[dot]com. I have my laptop with me, though getting to the internet may be tricky for a few days, as I do not know what kind of coverage there is out here. It’s a bit, ah, rural, if you will.
I am looking forward to this new adventure.
