Best Comments Roundup 20th July 2007 [Organize IT]
This is a new regular feature I want to start up, where I take another look at some of the best comments (seeing as I am getting a lot more nowadays). Firstly, I want to look at the great responses I got when I asked about mission statements. I especially like Loi’s suggestion of having “life promises.”
Jay Perry: “My current statement was crafted through a very intense retreat process two-and-a-half years ago. It stated that I would “lead a team of pastors to plant a very large church in a North American city,†etc.”
Loi: “Besides checklists I also have “life promisesâ€. Stuff like “When I get sad I’ll…†It’s to keep me from uselessly experimenting with other stuff. Now, if I find that something works, it’s my permanent method.”
A few weeks ago I talked about a little program called Mozy for online backing up of files. I personally think it’s great and will do a follow up post about it in the near future. However it’s only fair I take a balanced look at it:
Mark: “I don’t want to always be careful about what I move or delete - I’d rather have a static backup of what files/folders my computer contained at a specific point in time until I decide to add to or take away from the backup manually.”
That’s all for this first reader’s comments post. As always, feel free to add your own thoughts to any posts you are interested in. There is now a recently commented section on the homepage so you can even comment on older posts and people will still see it.
