Accomplishments are just as important as goals [Gearfire Productivity]

It is well known that keeping track of your goals and progress is a very important part of achieving what you want. Sometimes however, we can get so wrapped up in trying to achieve things, that we forget about all the stuff we have achieved. That is why it is important to keep a list of recent accomplishments just as close as your list of goals. Not only will this give you extra motivation, but it will make your goals seem more do-able and less far off.

If you are someone who worries a lot, or has trouble forgiving yourself, consider a list of things you need to forget about or forgive yourself for. Maybe it was a bad sales presentation, or a poor test score. If you find that you often get dragged down by negative outcomes, it might be beneficial to list the things you must forget about. Sounds like an oxymoron, but your task is to try to keep this list as empty as possible. If there is something there, you have to think about it. Maybe you can turn it into a goal. In the end though, you need to forgive that instance.

Another list idea is a "looking forward to" list. Usually it is good to put in a non-work related event or item in here, something that gets you exciting, and in a good mood. This helps with those moments when you feel unproductive, or your goals are not in sight.

You can try some other lists, or none at all, but I highly recommend that you have an accomplishments list. It is very important to mentally reward yourself for your hard work. It is easy to just forget about an accomplishment, and move straight to the next task on the list.
